Ok, so its like this, friend drops me off his old notebook. Gateway 7330, old as the hills, but Ubuntu will run on anything, sorta like Mikey’s eating habits. Network card is a pain but lots of help out there. No sound, and couldn’t find anything for it out there with Ubuntu 10.10 Meerkat.
Turns out that a quick fix is available. Open a terminal, run alsamixer, right over to external(probably off your screen, so just keep on pressing to find it), press m to turn OFF external amplifier, ESC out of alsamixer and you’re all done. Enjoy.
